Greetings Laurel Ridge families!
This week, LRES had our first Dot Day on Friday, and it was filled with creativity, STEM speakers, and celebrating our individuality! The students' individual art pieces were turned into a school mural! Thank you to all the parents who helped at home and PTA volunteers who helped install our mural.
LRES will be celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month. This celebration provides an excellent opportunity to recognize and honor the invaluable contributions of Hispanic and Latinx individuals to our society. We are excited to embrace the diversity of our school community. Throughout this month, our students will research and celebrate the Latinx community. Our monthly community meeting will focus on Hispanic Heritage Month.
Our PTA's Galactic Groove fundraiser will launch this Monday, September 18! The PTA will share more info tomorrow on how you can give and share through Givebacks to help our school accomplish some fantastic projects this year. During the fundraisers, updates on our school's progress toward our goal will be posted on our school-wide ClassDojo after 4 pm.
Calendar update: We have been able to schedule our Picture Day for this Friday, September 22!
Bus Update: The county is experiencing bus driver shortages affecting our afternoon routes. We will have one bus. The bus will take route 540 and then return to LRES to complete routes 537 and 538.
